In sort of a crazy juxtaposition, one of the Phactor's best friends returned from Australia just a couple of days ago. Last time the Phactor traveled to Australia, we were in perfect sync; this time, well, one of us got anxious. He sent along a nice image of an iconic plant, a Banksia (B. ornata), a genus named after the great English botanist Sir Joseph Banks. The columnar inflorescence is quite an ornamental display and in case you don't know your Australian lore, as the fruits mature they become very evil._(cropped).jpg)
