Botanical stalker-spammer

Oh, we plant lovers get a certain satisfaction from recognition, but at times it can get a bit creepy.  So what to make out of Steve Bowen, the recent stalker/spammer of plant bloggers?  Where does he fall on the continuum of clueless to evil schemer?  On one hand the Phactor is very supportive of people who want to educate people about plants, but Steve is a spammer, and his "message" has popped up in the comments of a number of plant-related blogs (Thanks to all my correspondents.).  He pitches an OK idea on the surface of it, although rather impractical, but he seems quite short on knowledge, know-how, and money, so apparently he really has little to offer.  So until he has something real to offer, he won't get any support from around here because at present he's also a scammer, seeking money via Kickstart for a pie-in-the-sky idea.  So watch your blog comments people  and set your spam filters to vaporize.

Berry-Go-Round #41 - a round up of plant related blogs

Plants are the Strangest People, and who should know better than Mr. Subjunctive. So click on over and enjoy a plant blog round up from soup to nuts, including some nuts. Funny that this should come within minutes of having posted a berry blog of my own! Forgive me for having been so preoccupied with a July 1 deadline that the Phactor failed to contribute.

Berry-go-Round #35 - Plants for the Holiday Season

The Decemeber edition of Berry-go-round is up over at the Accidental Botanist where Mary did a fine job of rounding up all sorts of plant blogs for the season. Oh, except no one blogged about poinsettia, although the Phactor did post about a Christmas tree in the same family.

Berry-Go-Round #31 - September 2010

How do some people do it? As far as work goes, this is still mid-September, and then some people can just get things out like right on time, by what ever deadline, and how was the Phactor to know that today was the first day of October anyways because September, given the time of year around academia, deserves 31 days more than a number of other months where the extra day is just wasted! At any rate the monthly round up of plant blogs, Berry-go-Round #31 is up over at Blog Around the Clock. Have a look at what the month brought us. In the meantime a stack of exams is calling my name.
